Alex Boothby

Alex Boothby is an award winning, 20-year veteran of the film industry.  His most recent work includes directing the Avenue A commercial for Adidas as well as writing and directing two “Heritage Minutes” commercials for Historica Canada. His work as a visual FX artist can be seen in hundreds of commercials as well as such films as Fight Club, Black Swan, Panic Room, The Cell, and Chicago. Alex has directed ads for Adidas, Acura, Budweiser, Smirnoff, Michelob, Listerine, GM Canada, and RBC.  In 2012 Alex wrote and directed his first feature film entitled “Mr. Viral”.  

Awards include: The Norman Jewison Filmmaker Award, three Bessie Craft awards for excellence in compositing, a MMVA for Best Rock Video, as well as multiple Gemini, Bessie and MMVA nominations.
