Colin Minihan

Colin attended the Art Institute of Vancouver. While at AI, Colin won top honours at the BC Student Film Festival for best music video, best commercial and 2nd place narrative. It would only be a few years later when Colin would become the youngest ever recipient of the MMVA Director of the Year Award. In the years to follow, Colin directed a diverse range of music videos for the likes of Dean Brody, Mother Mother, Mariana’s Trench, Hedley, Papa Roach, Theory of a Deadman, Carly Rae Jepsen and many more.

Taking a break from music videos, Colin and friend Stuart Ortiz collectively branded themselves as The Vicious Brothers and wrote and directed a micro budget horror film ‘GRAVE ENCOUNTERS’. The film was a festival hit and was soon released In the US theatrically and on VOD by Robert De Niro’s newly formed Tribeca Film. Forbes Magazine ranked Grave Encounters one of the top 10 scariest films of 2011.  In 2014 The Vicious Brothers wrote and directed horror/science fiction film EXTRATERRESTRIAL. EXTRATERRESTRIAL premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and was acquired by IFC FILMS and released theatrically on VOD in 2014. Colin is currently in post production for his third feature film to be released in 2017.
